The Resorts

*Update 12 March 2012 - Premursa have purchased two thirds of the land required to build Paramount Theme Park for just over ten million euros. The other third will be purchased once the necessary steps have been completed to do so.

The Paramount Theme Park Resort located in Murcia is planned to open for 2015. It will become one of the largest theme parks in Europe and is costing close to one billion Euros to build. Murcia was chosen due to its 300 sunny days a years which will give the park a distinct advantage over it's European competitors.

The creators of the resort have promised it will be unlike any other visitor attraction, with many of the rides being interactive using previously unseen technology where you become part of the experience. Given the licenses and the themes to the rides this is a theme park for adults as well as children.

It is a expected to achieve from 2.5 - 3 million visitors per year going up to 5 million visitors per year after five years which is great news for people wishing to rent their properties out as a holiday home. There will be a number of hotels within the resort, but quite often people will look for more flexible options which renting an apartment or villa offers.

The Paramount Theme Park Resort Murcia is made up of the following areas:

ADVENTURE CITY

Adventure City features a number of attractions the three which have currently been announced included:

• Titanic Experience The centre of Adventure land is home to the Titanic where visitors will re-live the Titanic Experience
• Mission Impossible 4D Drive through the virtual world of the international espionage in 3D with lots of special effects

RANGO´S WEST

Rango´s West is set in the wild west where Rango is the sherif:

• Rango´s how the west was sung Interactive 4d experience
• Rango´s Raging Rapids Ride the rapids on a wet and thrilling trip
• Spirit of the West Stunning roller coaster ride through the wild west

WOODLAND FANTASY

Younger members of the family will love the attractions in Woodland Fantasy:

• Spiderwick Chronicles features magic workshops and interactive adventures
• Happy Tree is very large adventure play land
• Sleepy Hollow has a darker side and is located in a mysterious forest based on the legends of the headless horseman

PLAZA FUTURA

Journey to the future and enjoy the space theme land, Plaza Futura:

• Star Trek journey through space in the starship enterprise in this motion simulation ride where the latest technology will give visitors a unique experience
• War of the Worlds a spectacular 4D experience which will see you fighting of alien invaders, again using the very latest technology to thrill visitors
• Paranormal Activity using 3D imagery and special sound effects you will be given the fright of your life when you come face to face with the spirits

LIFESTYLE

The Lifestyle zone will be home to:

• One 5* Hotel
• Three 4* Hotels
• Four 3* Hotels
• Themed Village which will include shops, bars, restaurants and clubs
• Auditorium
• Conference Centre

The information above is based on the presentation given on the 25th March 2011 by Paramount. It is still early days and many things will no doubt change with more rides etc being announced. The funding of the project is still to be confirmed, however the financial sums for the park do stack up and there are currently many investors from around the world looking at being part of the resorts success.
