*Update 12 March 2012 - Premursa have purchased two thirds of the land required to build Paramount Theme Park for just over ten million euros. The other third will be purchased once the necessary steps have been completed to do so.
The Paramount Theme Park Resort located in Murcia is planned to open for 2015. It will become one of the largest theme parks in Europe and is costing close to one billion Euros to build. Murcia was chosen due to its 300 sunny days a years which will give the park a distinct advantage over it's European competitors.
The creators of the resort have promised it will be unlike any other visitor attraction, with many of the rides being interactive using previously unseen technology where you become part of the experience. Given the licenses and the themes to the rides this is a theme park for adults as well as children.
It is a expected to achieve from 2.5 - 3 million visitors per year going up to 5 million visitors per year after five years which is great news for people wishing to rent their properties out as a holiday home. There will be a number of hotels within the resort, but quite often people will look for more flexible options which renting an apartment or villa offers.

The information above is based on the presentation given on the 25th March 2011 by Paramount. It is still early days and many things will no doubt change with more rides etc being announced. The funding of the project is still to be confirmed, however the financial sums for the park do stack up and there are currently many investors from around the world looking at being part of the resorts success.
